NEWS FROM OUR PARISHES

CONGRATULATIONS DEACON DONNA
The Deacon in training for the Anglican parishes of St Barnabas, Rowlands Gill, St Patrick's High Spen and St Cuthbert's Blaydon,  Donna Robinson was ordained to the Diaconate by the Bishop of Jarrow at Durham Cathedral Don Sunday 29th June.  She is now serving as Assistant Curate alongside Reverend Diane Ryan. Some of our parishioners will recognise Donna from our monthly coffee mornings at St Barnabas' which she usually attends
Donna kindly invited Lesley Gregory and Wendy McMahon to the occasion which they attended:  it was a joyful occasion,  followed by a shared lunch at St Paul's Winlaton.
Congratulations to Donna. Prayers are welcomed for Donna and her family while she starts her journey.
WALKING WITH CHRIST TO CALVARY
Approximately 30 people joined us from across the parishes and area, walking from St Joseph's, Blaydon to St Anne's, Winlaton,  to remember and walk with Christ on his journey to Calvary.
"I love you Jesus, my love above all things. I repent with my whole heart for having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always and then do with me what you will."

VISITATION OF BISHOP STEPHEN

On Sunday 3rd November Bishop Stephen Wright visited the parishes of St Anne, Winlaton and St Joseph, Blaydon.

Bishop Stephen celebrated the two Masses and spoke of the great love that God has for each of us. He spoke too of his own faith journey and revealed that he thinks the best job in the world is that of a Parish Priest. Do keep that in mind for your next career choice!!

This was his third visit to St Joseph’s – Confirmations in July and for a meeting with the clergy in June. He commented that he had been well fed on each of his visits.
